And with that in mind, why not just leave it as it is... karma! Most of us know what it means in the context of the forum and most of us aren't offended by it.

In Mexico, to flick your front teeth means the same as to give the finger in the USA.
Of course there are many others.

Tha handsign for my beloved Texas Longhorns is this:
But in Italy, that means something VERY negative.

It's an old Italian curse... but only if you point the fingers at someone while shaking your hand! Hand gestures are an entire language in Italy!

Man 2air and Shari, you all are fast!
In order to simplify the system even more and to be as politically correct as possible the Karma System has now been converted to the Thanks System. At the bottom right of all the posts you will see a Thanks button. If you would like to thank a member for posting that post then simply click on this button and leave them a "Thanks". Each time you get thanked, it's worth one point. These points don't mean anything but maybe someday they will (hmmm...)

hmmmm... KUDOS... Now I LIKE that! Thanks are OK but they're so common and often said without true meaning behind them. If karma is not politically correct (I hate that term), why not call it KUDOS???
Good Idea 2air! Kudo's for that one!

I think I left the last "karma" under the old name...I saw the "thanks button" there and didn't know what it was (for sure) and used the "scales". By the time it posted...the scales were gone ~
Anyways...Thanks Andy!

I like the change. It is now visable and easy to understand for the newer members. It is also much more likely that it will be used more often.

Yup - this is a pretty cool group of people. My day isn't complete unless I spend a few minutes (or hours sometimes) here.

Yup... there's a lot of words that have over time, morphed into another meaning and the reason being is that the majority have come to accept it's "new" usage. Popular lexicon. Much ado about nothing here.
Karma's cool... like passing out good vibes, man. Sharin' the love...
The thumbs up "thanks" button's OK, too I guess, in a PC sort of way... but passing out karma denotes something a bit different, IMHO... just a fellow 'streamer appreciating the idea/thought being passed on. Nuthin' to do with religion... just appreciation.
Peace, y'all...

Exactly my sentiments. Good Karma makes you feel good (kudos do too.) Thanks don't quite have the same feeling - something you hear all the time and never give it any thought to them. Sometimes they can be really shallow sometimes really sincere.
When someone gave me Karma here I felt special. Receiving Kudos would give me the same feeling. Receiving thanks for a post... well... the feeling would be a little tepid. Maybe Andy would reconsider and rename thanks to "Kudos"

So now will there be a limit on thanks? A limit of gratitude? There definitely is a lack of civility in our society, I guess it is just reality now. So how about we find out?

yes, there is a limit. If you hit this limit then you are giving out too much thanks and will be officially considered a "Thanks Slut".
Seriously, it's set very high. If you are hitting this limit on a regular basis, I'd ask you to review the posts you are giving Thanks to and make sure the content is worthy. We don't want this little feature to be abused and for some members to just dish out thanks for the sake of it or to try and game the system. If we find out members are doing this, then we will contact you and warn you about doing this. Please don't ruin the party for everyone else. A little thanks goes a long way, no need to be belligerent about it.
