Ok, let me clear some things up. Each member's karma is currently seen only by that individual member and staff of the forum. We have been discussing in the moderators forum making this information public. Karma is not intended to be any kind of popularity contest but more of a 'pat on the back system'. It is meant to encourage each other for making quality contributions to our community.

I am looking into a way for members to be able to 'show' their karma points total if they elect to. This is just one option. We are also discussing making this manditory and also keeping it on a personal basis.

Please dont overlook the fact that this is meant to be a system to awknowledge each other for contributing to the knowledge base. It's not meant to be more or less... If we can ever attract any paying sponsors, we might be able to use it to give away some goods of theirs... It's just one little feature of many that try to give us some more interaction with each other. Please take it for what it is worth. Be light hearted and enjoy this community as on online place to have some fun and try not to get into the competitive details of contributing or collecting karma. If we all have fun, we will journey together further then we will alone.

as Wally said "To open a whole world of new experience a new dimension in enjoyment, where travel, adventure and good fellowship are your constant companions."

Sad News

My karma was just run over by my Dogma.

I would rather be fixing my Airstream.

But I do have a lot of fun reading about other peoples adventures.

Wow I had no idea when I started this thread that it would become popular. Seriously, I dont use or need Karma to judge my good deeds, nor will my happiness or self esteem be affected by how many points I have.
I dont care if It is deserved or not and I do not look for thank you's or rewards for my good deeds, if I did they would be favors that needed repayment and not good deeds.

If you genuinely care about Karma and feel it is of any value to you you may have all of mine, I will give it to you.

Yep...it's possible with only 11 posts & 3 months of membership it doesn't appear that you have been around enough to accumulate much karma from other members. However, you do have the 10 that everybody starts with! At least you aren't a negative number like some ~

Check again ~

I have a beautiful 15 points. No matter, we feel good about ourselves even if we are low on the Karma scale.

Karma is cool!

I have been recently been giving Karma for really great posts and the folks on the "I quit smoking thread" because -well - they need a little TLC.
