Well...check again!
When you are still a "newbie" you may not show any comments...everybody starts off with 10 karma points, but no comments, so there is nothing to see when you check - until another member gives you some.
Happy posting!

You've got to be logged in. Go back to the post you like and note the blue 'Give karma' in the lower left of that specific post. Leave a comment in the screen that opens. Karma to ya for asking!

How come there is a limit on how much karma I can give out per day?
Can I get a higher limit if I become a contributing member?
Inquiring idiots want to know.

Hey Mistral blue,
I like mine with lettuce and tomato
Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes
Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer
Had a great cheeseburger in paradise years ago at Margaritaville in New Orleans, Louisiana
Thanks so much for the karma and right back at ya!

Yes, this is really a moving & shaking issue in Airstreamdom. You can graciously contribute to me and I'll dispense some but credit it to you. Anybody else want to get in on this? Send letters to markdoane, 59 Tradewind Drive, Frozen Toon-dra...

Bob, as much as I like the idea, I can't give you or anyone karma.
Maybe I'm on secret probation?

Probably double-secret probation 'cuz the karma machine took the karma extended to Bob for his tasteless remark about Minnesoooda , but would not allow me to extend any to you for "suffering" the remark.
Life's just not fair sometimes...

You should be able to send karma... and you are definitely not on probation, since you sent karma my way just yesterday . (thanks, by the way)
Are you receiving an error message?
You have to give karma to 10 different folks before you can give to the same person again.

Not an error message, but a screen that tells me I have reached the limit of karma I can give out. I run into the 'different folks' error all the time, that's not it.

grasping at straws here....
You can only give karma 10 times in a 24 hour period - try waiting a few hours?

Yep that's it! I checked (through the admin panel) and he's been such a generous guy that he's given out all 10 daily karma doses already - between 1/07 (18:59) and 1/08 (14:25) - ten were given.
Way to go Don! Check back later this evening ~

So is there a reason for the limit per 24 hour period?
Whine on: I mean its really inconvenient when a person sees all these great photos/posts to give karma to (there's lots of them) and then you spend it all in one thread and have to try and remember who to give karma to in the future...whew Whine off:
I guess what I am respectfully asking is does the karma time limit have to do with some sort of system software thing or is it tied to some other rationale?

This is a good question....
It is a software thing, but it might be possible to change the setting. I'll look into it.
I expect that there is a limit set to make/keep karma values stable and desirable. Kinda like the Fed regulates currency...

Janet, You differentiate between "Karma Power" and "Karma Points". It looks like we can only be aware of our Karma Points via the Control Panel, is that true? Is Power only beneficial because it makes our gifts of karma more generous to the receiver of the gift?
BTW, I love giving karma...It's a fun way to show kindness to strangers
Thanks,
Steve

The amount of karma you earn is based on the karma power the person giving you karma has.
Here are other rules
- you can only give 10 people karma per day
- you have to give 10 different people karma before you can give the same member karma again
- all members have 10 karma points by default
- If a member has less then 5 karma points their "karma gifts" do not count towards any other members until they get their karma back above 5.
- a member must post at least once before their "karma gifts" count toward other. So if a member has never posted, they can still leave karma but it wont have any effect on the user.
