If you have a digital camera (and who doesn't these days, with film processing costs through the roof?) it's usually just a matter of selecting "movie mode" (usually indicated by an icon of a movie camera on a tripod) and pushing the "shoot" button, same as you do to take a picture.
You push the same button to stop it. Download it just like you already do for still pictures.
Posting on Youtube is easy. First you join (free) and then be sure you know WHERE on your computer the movie is, and when told to, you navigate to it and bingo, yer a Movie Producer!
Heck,
Windows Movie Maker (free, already on just about any computer with Win XP or better) will let you edit it and add a different sound track, if you want to take ten minutes to learn it.
In fact, WMM will accept three still images and let you make a movie with
that! Image 1: far left light on, image 2, middle light, and so on...
G'wan, try it: you can't break anything!
