iPad/iPhone app survey

Checked out the airforums using my app and was asked to be part of a survey. Said yes, and before I could respond, said survey disappeared. The fact that I can't stay logged in on the regular forum, is, I think an iOS 7 issue that not even the techs at the Apple Store can resolve.

The airforums mobile app sucks! Even though I have my iPad locked on a horizonal screen, the app instantly goes to the vertical. Using the app on an iPhone is ok if you have the eyes of a twenty year old. Much easier to use the regular airforums website with an iPad mini than the mobile app.

I don't have any problems with the iphone app. Not sure how to edit my info but that's probably me figuring it out. Also not sure where to find my member number

I agree, not having any problems with the mobile app but I do need to edit my profile and haven't been able to figure it out!

I don't have a problem with the iPad App. I have rotation locked and the Airforums App stays in landscape orientation. The search function sometimes works, sometimes does not-
I like the way Airforums goes straight to "timeline" or "unread".
The iPhone App, however, is a different story- what a bunch of junk!
The search feature does nothing.
It has that awful red instead of blue.
I hate having to choose "timeline". I think it the App should open already there, and have a "subscribed" button like the iPad App...
I have never tried to take the survey. I just click "no, thanks" when it pops up.
It is best to edit (or search) from the regular website on a computer rather than a mobile device- easier to figure it out- more user friendly- some functions/features may not be available on mobile App-

The thing I find disturbing on the I Phone is when I get a notification the app dose not open directly to that thread and if I don't respond quickly the tread is hard to find.

As an alternative you can also try the app Tapatalk. I've been experimenting with the free version and it seems to work quite well. You might give this a trial if the forums app is not working well for you.

I tried that, and ended up posting on three other forums with the same post, using the Tapatalk app. None of them was AIR, which is what I was trying to post on. I managed to delete the other posts, and haven't dared use the app since.
Maybe one day, I'll have time to experiment, and see what happened.

Howie
I just swipe down from the top of my iPhone screen and tap the msg notice.
Goes right to the message update.

When I open the app and see the red color, it causes my mind to instantly recall times previously that I was on it... and quit in frustration. The iPad is sometimes better than my iPhone but I pretty much try to avoid them both. When traveling we use the iPad but I've gotten frustrated trying to search or post and often just go to the browser and open up the regular forums... I find it much easier.

Maybe it's a learning curve... but I didn't have the same problems/issues when it was "blue...."

The iPad app is terrible, but the iPhone app is worse.
One thing I do like better about the mobile apps is the ability to scroll down to older posts.
I don't know how to view older posts on the "portal" on the regular website.

The app is badly written. I just wanted to post a question and couldn't figure out how to do it.

We only take the iPad when traveling and other apps work fine. This one is fine for browsing but not user friendly.

Thanks for letting me vent my frustrations. I will use the regular site on the Mac.

The search functions on the mobile app don't really search-
The regular website actually does a key word search-

I just use the browser and use the regular site. My BlackBerry remembers my login, so it is fast if I want to post. The only problem is the fingers are bigger than the buttons on the page, but by enlarging the page I manage.

I have noticed that posts on the regular site are dropped on the iPad app. As many as six or seven posts are dropped on the app depending on the number of pages used for a thread. I noticed this when I was reading a reply that didn't make any sense on the app and then went to the regular site and discovered that posts weren't carried over on the iPhone and iPad apps.

Very disconcerting, especially if you are using the app and unaware that you are missing content.

That explains reading a post that seems out of place...
The search function does nothing. It just lists the subscribed/participated threads.
I am glad, however, that they made it blue instead red. That simple little thing means a lot to me.

Started getting Push Notifications on my iPhone 5 a few days ago using the Forums app. I verified the feature is turned off. Any suggestions?

Edit: Just to make sure I did the right thing......goto Settings>General>Push Notifications>Receive Notifications>Off

I still get notifications when somebody post to a thread that I'm subscribed to.

Jim
