Infiltration alert - Spammers in the house

I received this airstream forums private email at 3:00+ am...don't know how I got it(I have some suspicions), but thought I would throw it out there, as it is obviously a spam infiltration...has anyone else received one of these? I couldn't find an administrative contact, so decided to throw it to the forums...figured that it would get an answer or be monitored out...

Probably, but my main concern is that someone has gained access to the PM AS Forums...gotta be at least a couple of firewalls in there, somewhere...? Still hoping for ADMIN or MODERATOR response...m

This has no connection to the forums but a good place to post this.

A couple of days ago got a call from "Publisher's Clearinghouse". I won $2.5 mil and the check was waiting for me at the Airport. I only had to send $430 to Jamaica so the check could clear customs.

I called the NM AG who said the area is blanketed with this scam. One person called the AG, was told it was a scam, sent the money anyway, and then called up the AG to ask them to get his money back.

Both these instances of spam came from a registered member. Once a member has registered, they can leave profile comments, use the PM system and use the contact member via e-mail function. So long as you don't reply to that e-mail they have no access to your e-mail address.

I think in both cases this is garden variety spam and while annoying, not a security concern.

Well, I got MY 11 million, but I buried it somewhere in the backyard...just can't remember where...my dog left an hour ago for someplace in Costa Rica...
