Increasing number of "Latest Discussions" displayed via Portal

By using the Portal, one pulls up the "Latest Discussions" and the list is the last 25 posts in my case.

How does one increase the number from 25 to say the last 50 or 75?? This board is quite active and last 25 just doesn't quite cut it.

Alan, one workaround to this problem:

-increase number of posts to show per page to 50 or 100 (control panel/edit options/number of posts to show per page)

- then use Quick Links/Todays Posts rather than Latest Discussions

I logged in, selected "New Posts" and bookmarked that page. Now every time I select my AirForums bookmark, what comes up is only the threads with unread posts since the last time I looked at the forum. Threads with no new posts since the last time I looked aren't displayed.

Related question: I use "new posts"to catch up. It seems to me though that it doesn't always include all sub forums in the search. If I press it again a few minutes later the list can be different. Do others have similar issues?

Yes, New Posts is probably better than Todays Posts, unless you're a multi-visits-per-day user. For either link, it's a good idea to increase the 'number of posts to show per page' to 50 or 100.

JCL, I assume that the list of New Posts will update and change every time you read a thread, or someone else adds a new post. Perhaps this is why threads in 'new' sub-forums appear now and then?

Every time you read a thread and then come back to New Posts, it updates.

If you open "New Posts" and let it sit without reading anything, it won't update until you refresh the screen.

The problem is that some sub forums don't appear to be included in the search. An example would be the three tow vehicle and hitch sub forums. That is where I usually notice threads missing from the new post search. I go to those three sub forums after browsing new posts and read all the bold ones that didn't appear in the new post search.

That is the problem. This thread, and your responses, don't show up when I click the new posts button. Does it exclude threads I have a post in? I see a line that says the most recent search was generated three minutes ago, so there is a periodic refresh, it isn't on demand so to speak.

Using an iPad, browsing in Safari.

IIRC, the 'New Posts' selection only removes posts that you have read.
