I've been a member here for gee I guess about 2 years. I thought it would never happen BUT, I've finally decided to use the ignore function on a poster that wants to cause disruption in the "force". Confrontational posts seem to be his thing and he blabbs all over this forum`, so I.m tired of it,
I could change the channel then I would miss out on all the positive that this forum and it's members put forth.
So the problem is that the ignore function ONLY works when you are logged on, now that I think about it I guess that's the way it is in life anyway.
So I'll just have to put up with this posters tactless posts ho hum

My question is - How does it work? If I choose ignore, can I just ignore his posts? Or does this make me ignore the whole thread? Is this even what the ignore function is for?
Tooo many questions...
Dave
I'm with you too. I put someone on my "ignore" list, and although their name comes up, their text doesn't~ so I can still read the thread. This forum is usually so helpful and civil. Plenty of teasing, and sharing of disparate views--but without the jarring confrontations. Who needs more of that? Especially on a forum about such a great source of fun and enjoyment...
The nice thing about the ignore function is you can see the rest of the posts, and if you want to see the ignored post, just click the "view post" button in the upper right corner. That lets you see that one post in a separate window.
Helps with continuity.
I have 24 names on my ignore list. Hasn't been a problem.
So the obvious question is: If a person gets on lots of folks ignore lists, do they get a "heads-up" from the monitors? A sort of fed-up feed back quotient , I guess.

Wow. Didn't take battlefield rocket surgery to figure out where this all originated... It is a shame that it has to come to that sometimes...
I wouldn't be surprised if I'm on someone's ignore list - I might be on my own ignore list, because I deliberately haven't been paying attention to myself lately...

I have been on my wifes ignore list for years, hers works if I am logged on or not.
Jim,
Did your wife teach my wife that ignore technique?

As far as I know we don't have access to user's 'ignore lists'. In fact I don't think the issue has ever come up. If it helps you enjoy the forums more by 'ignore'-ing someone, by all means, do so.
I just ignore those I want to ignore - I haven't tried the ignore function, as I wasn't completely sure how it worked.
This does bode a ponderous question. If I ask a question and I'm being ignored, then will anyone know I asked the question? (does a tree falling in the forest make any sound) Can anyone hear me.... hello is anyone out there???
