Is there someone out there in computer land that knows how to create an animated gif file for my avatar. I took very still frame photos of my slide opening and closing. I thought it would be fun to crop the Airstream down to size and show the slide moving... however im too dumb to do it myself.
I see two problems, you have to be sure the board will let you post an animated gif, I did mine several years ago and the rules may have changed. The other problem will be file size. I did mine my capturing frames as I added states and sill had to work the file down. You may have to cut out just the section of the photo that shows slide movement and add that area back frame by frame. I did mine using PD software but don't even remember the software, it wasn't hard just exacting.
Thanks for the info. I am not sure of the rules when it comes to this type of application. I will have to inquire. Either way its a fun thing if even for my computer desktop. I figured out a program and have been moving the pictures but the size is so big Im not really able to view other than the slide movement.
I will keep playing with it.
Animated avatars are not allowed on AIR forums. We had them in the past, but some of them caused problems, and their usage was discontinued. There is still a handful of them grandfathered in, but as those avatars are changed, they will not be allowed, either.

I have been making .gif files for years using Broderbund Screen Shot Deluxe 6.0
I think Broderbund was bought by someone, can't think who, but I would think there must be several inexpensive or free programs out there somewhere that will do the job.
