How to communicate with members in my region

Is there a set of sub-forums here for members from different regions to communicate? I would like to contact members in my area for tips and ideas for where to 'stream locally and also to find someone to help orient me to my new argosy and help me set it up wisely for towing.

What would be the best way to do that, or which is the most appropriate forum to start that discussion?

Hello zimbop,

You have a few choices.
1. Start a thread. Your responses may pull in only a fraction of Forums members in the southwest.
2. Look at http://www.airforums.com/forums/ and go down to the boondocking subforum and check out previous threads on your area.
3. Keep an eye out for AIR Forums rallies in your area. Face to face networking is an excellent and proven way to expand your horizons.
4. If you are a WBCCI member there is a private Four Corners Unit subforum. Airstream25 is the gatekeeper for entry to those threads.

WBCCI is the Airstream club that's been around for 50+ years.

Check out: WBCCI.org

There are Regions and Units all over the country & Canada and there is also a Vintage IntraClub which you would be eligible to join, being that your trailer is older than 25 years.

Hi Zimbop,

Welcome to the forums. You may want to check out this thread for information about a rally that will be in Albuquerque in early October...

I think that its a neat idea to start some threads to locate other Forums members nearby.

Other forums I belong to have regional subgroups, each of which has their own discussion board on the forum. It's been really handy at times.

As for the WBCCI, are they the ones responsible for the red numbers on nearly every airstream, or is that some other club?

The big red numbers on the front and back of an Airstream are the owner's WBCCI membership number. If you see blue numbers, that is the owner's Forums membership number.

This forum we're on here being the owner's forum with blue numbers, or yet another?

Shortly after I was given my "free" year of WBCCI membership, the Southern AZ Unit went under.......no interest, I guess.

I sent my red letters back. What the purpose is of WBCCI escapes me

Zimbop---The 4corners unit is a very active and helpful group of about 5 dozen folks. Many reside here on the forums. Ken J is in NM and is heading up a rally to the Balloon Festival in early Oct. AzFlyCaster is very knowledgeable on most things AS and is from the Phoenix area. Send these folks a PM and get acquainted.

zimbop - click on your blue username in any post and select 'Public Profile.' Your AIR Forums member number (by sequence of joining) is at top left of the Forum Info section immediately under your username on your Public Profile.

After picking up my new to me AS I was wondering about the ghost numbers on the front of it. If I was to joint the WBCCI could I use these old numbers if they are in fact still with the trailer. The PO told me that he had acquired it because the original owner had passed away. Is there a place to check to see who has my numbers if anyone? A WBCCI member list would be nice.

Thanks, Richard SL

Richard,

Call the WBCCI headquarters at 937-596-5211 and ask if those numbers are available.

Bill

If you post the numbers here, any WBCCI member can look it up in the Membership Directory. I think a number has to be inactive for 2 years before anone else can be assigned that number.

You can always send an email to:
Jodi Morris, Membership Director
jmorris@wbcci.org

If the number is available, she can put a hold on it for you.
