Maybe the posting criteria can be changed upward.

And I got a visit from the Get-A-Life Foundation a couple of years ago...

At the time we implemented this "reward" system in 2002 it seemed like 500 posts was not achievable in the near future...
As you can see below, the rivets used are real rivets, no cheap knock-offs.

Plus in 2002 you could only post when on a wired comptuer for the most part. NOW i read bloggs from folks like RVsue and crew, set up in the middle of NO WHERE using a wireless jetpak hooked up to a special antenna getting a signal.

now in 2013 you can be boondocking and online at the same time..

might be time to up the limits to almost three times where they are now.

to be a real Rivet Master you will not have a life off the airforums... I was able to get over 1000 post on TUG2.net the timeshare forum website i visited a lot.. mostly reading and some posting.. to get 1000 post it took me some 10+ years. I learned a lot just reading post there and here and my thanks to all the 3 rivet and higher members..

Funny you mention that...

When I first signed up for Airforums it had a different name and I was using a dial up modem via an 800 number from a KOA somewhere. Now I use my smart phone for browsing or even as a high speed modem. Looooong ways from that 56k dial up stuff.

In the early 70s, I remember the challenges in getting a 300 baud modem (that was capable of 30 characters per second) to work on a rural phone system across the highway to my server.

Now my iPhone has download speeds the equivalent of a T-3 let alone a T-1 line that cost $1,000 per month in each direction ( from the Cisco 56 modem box collocated at the phone office to my servers and from my servers to the world). Heck, I was really excited over an ISDN line at 128k in both directions...

Yeah, with that 4th rivet and a dollar you will be able to buy anything on the $.99 menu.

And once you get five rivets, you get a "rivet master" label. From then on, no matter how many posts you make, the label never changes, unless you use a custom label and get rid of the rivets.

Just as well. Santa's a pervert. Any guy who wears red velvet, hangs around shoping malls, and promises children toys to get them to sit on his lap is a pervert in anybody's book!

I believe one member (we all know who he is) had some 1,400 posts in less than a year and before he even owned an Airstream... Facebook on our forum... And too much obsessing.
