How are photos managed?

It just happens that I am the last person to post photos in the 1990 trailer gallery. But my question is if an individual adds photos over a period of time will they be filed just in order of uploading or will they attach to his name so all his photos are togeather?

If you upload them to the bottom of posts or threads they will just remain with that post or thread. If you set up a gallery in the photo section you can sort them however you want. You can then link to them in posts or threads... and they will be located in your gallery under your member name and within albums if you set it up that way.

Interesting concept but I may not have voiced my question correctly. I have attached pictures to some of my posts but never within the test. At this point I do not have a seperate web site to host from in order to insert pictures as you mention.

I have uploaded several pictures to the "Photos" section" of this web page under "Airstream Trailers 1990" section. If after another member loads after my pictures and I again up load some additional pictures will mine be seperated by his or will they attach to my original pictures because of my user name?

It appears that pictures uploaded to the "Photos" section are just stored in secquence of uploading and would be hard to locate later on.

You metioned "albums". Can I create an album within Airstream Trailers 1990. I just loaded my originals as a single with time being the only common factor.

But you CAN upload pictures in the members section and they will stay put as your own album. Every member has the ability to upload and store pictures of whatever they want...FREE!

Click on "photos"
Then "member's photos"
Then "upload"
Follow the prompts, add description, etc.
Cilck "submit"
Repeat with each picture you want uploaded to you member's album

If you do this, you WILL have a separate hosting site for your own pictures...and can upload them in posts as described in my earlier post.

By posting them in the other categories, you can link to them posts, but they are categorized sequentially within the section to which they were uploaded. If you want to share your pics in BOTH places, you can upload them twice or just put a couple in the 1990 trailer section and the remainder in your own section.

Also, to make finding your pictures easier if they are posted in the 1990 trailers (or any) section, you can scroll down to display options and select "User Name" under the Sort by drop down...then all your own pictures will be grouped together.

Now that I have tapped into a knowledge base can I ask one more question.
The 3 photos that appear at the top of the Portal page. Are they selected, at random, from ALL 5 of the photo categories or just certain of categories.

Currently pics are pulled from all sections. We may change this up a bit next time we upgrade our forums software but for now it's totally random.
