Forums service interruption

It appears that we had a service snafu that has resulted in the loss of posts going back to about 3 AM Monday morning. We apologize for this inconvenience and are working on this issue. Our database is fully backed up each night and so when something like this occurs we can and have restored the backup copy. Please bear with us while we examine the issue further.

What a bummer!

Does this mean any posts from earlier today are lost? I noticed mine and others where gone from the "school me please" thread.

Yes. Posts, PMs, ads, etc. On the bright side you get a chance to repost with all the stuff you forgot to say the first time

Again, our apologies for this inconvenience.

Or restate what you really should have said.

The classified ads from the last day or so went *poof* as well. If you have placed an ad within the last day or so, please check to see if it's still there.

There's a lot I don't know here but if you want to repost content you should probably go for it. If you come across the post where I won a brand new tricked out Classic - please let me know.

Maybe this is related to the service interruption: When I just clicked on the "Generator" thread by trippy, I got a message that I didn't have permission to access the page.

I've never seen that happen before.

And here I am, thinking that the censor nazis went into overdrive and were trying to protect Airstream Inc's feelings in the "Town Hall" thread....

If ever there were an emoticon for jackass, this would be a great time to for me to use it on myself.

I just wanted to chime in and say that we are truly sorry for this. It was a simple mistake when trying to restore a backup to test on. The backup script includes the database name so instead of restoring to the test database it restored over the live database. The backup script has been updated so this will not happen again. Once again, I am truly sorry for this issue!
