Duplicate Posts

How do I delete a duplicate post? It has happened twice (duplicate post) and I can't see anyway to delete them....

Hi eric,

You can edit your own post for a short time (15 min I think) by useing the edit button in the lower right hand corner. After that a moderator has to do it, but dont worry much, we do exactly that all the time.

We see a fair number of duplicate posts and threads. When submitting new threads, don't be surprised if it doesn't show up on the portal page for 2-4 minutes -- I know some folks don't see it right away and post again.

I'd have to experiment what happens when I click the 'Submit Reply' button real quick twice. Matter of fact, I'll do it right now ...

.... nope, the software stops me from submitting the same post twice within 5 minutes if I get crazy clicking away.

I think duplicate posts are caused by a couple of minor issues, if you browser "hangs" due to slow internet connection or high internet/sever traffic and you click the submit button again it will duplicate post, and on occasion I have submitted, figured it hasn't gone thru, pasted and reposted only to find a duplicate. I refresh the portal page everytime I view it but it doesn't always reflect the most recent post. Bob you can have all the duplicate checks you want...but by the time you get them the orginals will all have been cashed
