Classifieds "mail system"???

I just found a message to me over in the classifieds that has been sitting there since July. Do members know that a message posted there DOES NOT show up in their mail on the Forums?

I'm not talking about a message that is connected to a listing. Nooooooo. There seems to be a separate mail system in the classifieds that's not connected to the Forums mail.

Sorta dumb, IMHO. I think this "feature" ought to be killed, or limited only to messages that are sent to a seller with a listing. Otherwise, members may leave messages that are never seen.

Yeah, doesn't sound too useful. Zep, where do you find a link to this mail system? I don't necessarily see a link on the - Airstream Trailer Classifieds - Airstreams Trailers For Sale page. But then you can hide a box of corn flakes on me if you put it at the front of any shelf in the pantry.

This is what I saw when I signed in today--that "[1 Message]" icon in the navigation bar. I have no idea where the link is to send a message. This might be a holdover from when I had a listing for my Caravel, something I didn't notice at the time. If that's the case, I'd say I'm disappointed that the for sale listings don't notify a seller other than on the classified page. As you can see, I remain clueless and confused. It is a happy place, never-the-less.

Yeah, this dog found out about the messages late too. I recently responded to a message that had been sitting in my classified "mailbox" for several months.

Thanks for posting about this. The messaging function was inadvertently enabled during an upgrade not too long ago and has now been disabled.
