I keep getting a broken link when trying to log on to the chat room. Is this security based? XP Pro security med. cookies are not blocked. Do I need to download chat softwear? Help.

reduced security to low and killed the pop up blocker,.... still broken.

Try the chat tab at the top of page and if that doesn't work try the link on the tool bar - sometimes the links in the left side menu get a little wonky. wait a minute for the software to load....

Well I've tried every door, including the url in your messge Janet but I'm still on the outside. This is happening on both my computers so it's not like it's just one.
I'm wondering if one of my add ons is blocking the softwear?

mayve - I use XP pro - cookies set to medium. have you checked your virus protection software? it can also block cookie exchange. So can firewall - like on a cable router.... you can change those settings - if you can find them.

turned off the virus software, working bare, no firewall, how do I make sure I've enabled Java script?

I give up..... gotta be the Sprint connection. I'm using my cell card on both computers. I'll try from home over the weekend and see if the broadband connection works.

As an update I'm now at home with my laptop hooked up to the wireless network and still can't get into the chat room..

so it wasn't the Sprint cell card...

I just tried it, got in with no problem. You will need to go into your control panel, and internet settings, and make sure you have the box to enable java checked.

We worked on that with Glen last night. I have no clue what the issue is. I have gotten in to the chat room on 3 different ISP's (broad band, cell modem, and slow dial up) and 2 different browsers. It has to be some setting or software on his computers. And FWIW on my IE Java is not checked but it still works on the Chat room...go figure.

Problem solved, JAVA was not installed with the XP Pro / Explorer 6 bundle. Had to go to Sun to download the software. Now I can chat!!

I seem to be having the same problem as GlenCombe and I can't seem to get into a chat room. I certainly would love to visit with you. Any other ideas?

Judith, I found that I did not have Java enabled on one computer and did not have Java on another. You've got to have it and have it turned on to be able to access the chat room.
