Axle upgrades

Hello, working on trailer upgrade and ultimately axel upgrades. My question is are the 3500lb dura torque mounting brackets in the same location as the 2800lb axles?
Glad to be a member.

If you DIY, you will have to complete an order form and provide axle dimensions from your trailer. The axles are made to order, not one size fits all.
If you do not feel comfortable doing this, find someone who is.

Yes they are made to order. You can go to inland rv as I did or the other guy.
The new brackets whoever you go to though will have differant bolt centers but that is easily delt with

Does anyone know the parts number for new axels for an ‘86, 32’ Excella? Still trying to find out and getting mixed messages. Thanks.

There is no part number for a specific axle. You choose a light duty axle based on the weight it will support. Then there is a form that you or a dealer completes and provide to Dexter. The form has blank spaces for specific dimensions that you must provide, based on measurements taken from your old axle or trailer. The axle is a custom build to your specification.

This is copied and pasted from Dexter's website.
"All Dexter axles are manufactured specifically for each customer order. Since there are literally tens of thousands of size and option combinations, we do not stock any axles. Therefore, every order must be set-up to produce."

One way to order without providing this information form is to find another person who has ordered the exact axle that you need. You could purchase a duplicate axle from that order. But, there is a risk involved in duplication of someone else's. YOU take the risk of ordering an axle that does not fit your trailer.

Another way is to order through a dealer who has had specific experience with Airstream trailers.
You could call Out of Doors Mart in Colfax NC, ask for the parts counter.

I've also read on this forum that people have good results from Colin Hyde in NY, though the axle he provides is not a Dexter Torflex. He is a member here, so you can find him by searching this forum. https://sites.google.com/a/colinhyde...ions.com/home/

Replacement Axle Sources

Would recommend "Colin Hyde Trailer Restorations" ph. 518-566-4400.

I tried Inland RV - Covid, California lockdown, new owners.....non responsive.
