I've been looking for an excuse to share this, but it's SO off topic - but now that we're talking about illusions...

Check out this link
http://www.grand-illusions.com/optic...agon_illusion/

Check out the video, then you can print out the PDF and build this little dragon - takes all of ten minutes even if you're fussy - and you'll have a little 3-D dragon to sit on your desk, and when you look at him (works best with one eye, but also with two if the light is right), he appears to turn his head and follow your movements. We've had ours about three days and we're still not bored with it - it's mind-boggling!

Wow all those images are a real trip! I thought I'd been mysteriously transported to the Jerry Garcia Camping and Caravanning International (JGCCI). Motto "What a long strange trip its been"

Anyone remember these cool cats?

Wink

Yes, too bad about the passing of something fun... I've created a Southwest Airlines-style Shamu-decorated Airstream CCD with tail flapping. And an Apollo-style Argosy lunar rocket ascent. Now I'm stuck with an Airstream colored yin-yang animation -- cool, but will probably get bored with it -- like Silvertwinkie, I'll post a new solid avatar when our Vikings win the Super Bowl.... (It was love boat, not a love-Airstream after all..... )

Just say NO to animated gifs

I agree completely. As often as I use this great forum, the twirling flashing stuff is just a nuisance.

Wow, the glitch must be solved. I changed mine a few minutes ago. I hope the few members that hate these things, don't get car sick. Jeff

Be sure and check the file size. Some amimated images are huge. There is a file size limitation of 100 K for avatars. When I had cartwheel girl as an avatar, I had to remove frames to lower the file size.
