Airstream Forums
I recently viewed other AS sites, specifically WBCCI and the VAC, and both are now starting there own version of an Air Forum. I understand that each are separate units but I think it would be great if all these forums were under one venue. I really don't want to log on to three different sites to keep track of the current AS news, functions, etc. I believe this forum has been around for awhile so why can't these other units incoropate themselves into this forum? After all it's all about Airstream. Just a thought but I think it prudent.

They are three separate entities. What you are suggesting would be like asking GM, Ford, and Chrysler to merge.

And they are all different in focus, aren't they? I mean, for example, the VAC is all about vintage. And so are we, but there's lots of posting from the men and women that own new TTs here as well. And the WBCCI is all about fighting, right?
Oops, just kidding.
As the saying goes, "chaqu'un son goût" which means, "Look! A French Trailer!".

I have always looked at this forum as the nuts and bolts of working on these awesome trailers. I have really enjoyed all the neat innovations and problem solving challenges posted by the members. People on this forum have done a great job of documenting airstream maintenance and rebuilding. Great pictures also.I think I will just stay with this forum.

Don't the feds own (sort of) two out of three? Kind of like the WBCCI owning (sort of) two out of three forums?

Lothorian,
As you will. The other two lists, Yahoo Airstream and Vintage Airstream List, have different members. They are the first Airstream lists I joined and I still contribute to them. My first Airstream friends are there, there is some overlap of members, but many unique members on each list.
I have sometimes found better answers to my questions on the other lists and the VAL is where I found my Liner. I will continue to contribute to all since I look everywhere for information and do not limit my search to only one place.

FYI, the Air Forum owner did offer WBCCI an opportunity to use this site but did not ever receive a response to his offer. You will also notice that we offer forums space for individual WBCCI units, and some have taken us up on.

For me, this site is as good as it gets. I do miss the old Airstream Central when Charlie Burke was answering technical questions. I printed out reams of information on my 68 Trade Wind. Now, if I could only lay my hands on it...

My interest is in renovating our '67 Overlander. To that end, this forum has proven very useful. At this point, I'm not particularly interested in joining the WBCCI... which I imagine will be expected for users of those forums.
