AIR is back from unexpected holiday break!
Hi folks, sorry for the interruption today. We has a server go bad and had to move AIR to a new server. Andy will be along shortly to post an update as soon as the new settings propgate to his ISP. He still can't see the site.
Thanks again for your indulgence.

It looks like my DNS settings updated so I can see the site on the new server. Sorry about the issues today. Did someone call the Grinch and ask him to pay a visit to our data center today? It seems there is some memory in the RAID card on the other server that is crashing and causing it to lock up. I am working to get more details to Dell so I can call them in the morning and get someone out to fix that server ASAP. For now we are running on a different server and it could take up to 24 hours for other people to gain access to the site again (we are running on a different IP).
I will post more info shortly and my appologies for the downtime today.

Janet, Andy and the others involved
We appreciate your efforts, particularly on this day, to get the forums up and going fully again.
You guys do a phenomenal job of keeping this a warm and friendly place to spend time.
Merry Christmas,
Barry

I've had 2 Dell servers w/ bad ram in the raid controllers. (identical hardware, purchased at the same time="bad manufacturing run").
a real B***H to figure out why the damn things would just randomly lock up tighter than a bullfrog's you-know-what. 'guess thats why they pay us the big bucks.

Would you mind PMing me the Model of those RAID cards and when they were purchased. I wonder if it's the same batch.

sure thing...but they're like 3 years old, so I doubt its the same issue. other than in the most general "if it happened once, it can happen again" sort of way.
