No kidding. I filed a trouble ticket (AIR #ZGF-284918) on Jan 24; basically: - I was notified that my upgraded account is due to expire, and renew at http://www.airforums.com/forums/payments.php...
- where I click the order button:
- ...resulting in the error:
- If I go back and click through to PayPal, it wants me to log in. I have no "account" with PayPal. Last time I was able to pay with CC without setting up an actual PayPal account. I have no intention to ever link a CC with those goofs again...
So. I continued to dialog with the trouble ticket folks for the next several days. The submit form does not allow one to specify a pay amount, but DOES allow one to hit the canned, "PAY $20" button. Viewing the page source shows the option value associated with this button is set to "0_usd":
Code:
<option value="0_usd" >US$20</option>
But it just may be that the server-side handler is borked.
I last heard about the trouble ticket was on Jan 30, saying they'll keep me advised.
Just now with the payment page: same result. *sigh*
I'm surprised the payment mechanism is still broken for so long.
Hope the issue gets more attention this way...
-jd.

Hi John. Yes, it's still broken. The older vBulletin version we are running is stretched beyond its limits with patched on pieces of software. Tech staff is holding us together while making preparations for a significant upgrade. In NASA parlance, a significant "event" took place thirteen days and fourteen hours ago. Technical details and other factors are beyond my ability to comment. I have no doubt that plenty of hair is being pulled over this payment issue. We'll put out notice when we have some news.

Sorry for the delayed response. I was enroute to Africa. I am here now and will be reviewing the issues. Please try to click to PayPal again and you should be presented an option to login or pay without logging in. If not, it might be an issue with the software that is running the site which is scheduled to be upgraded very soon. Please report back if you can pay without having to login.
Regards,
Andy

Attachments for Enhanced Accounts
Andy you probably have already answered this or maybe can direct me to the answer but for those of us with Enhanced Accounts, does the picture size of 1Mb hold even when we are attaching 4 0r 5 pictures to a reply to a thread?
BTW, is there a number associated with our AIR Enhanced Account and how do I find it if I forgot?
Thanks

Decal Mailing Notice
I have finished the work necessary to get the next batch of decals mailed. The mailing was dropped at the post office this morning 2/8.
The contribution dates covered by this mailing will be from October 17,2007 though and including February 7, 2008. All are going out first class mail so most of you will be receiving those mailings next week. Thanks for your patience. Andy's got the reports humming at this point so we should be on a monthly mailing schedule from here on out.
Regards,
Jack

Thanks, Andy -- just re-upgraded with the fixed page.
For non-PayPal-fans (like me) I'm happy to report that you may still use the service without establishing an actual PayPal account. I'm glad to avoid registering a CC with them, and still be able to support this place.
Cheers (seriously),
-jd.

Thanks for letting us know. Once we know that first one gets delivered, everything sort of goes from there. Not too bad considering they got handled by my local branch PO folks on Friday and from there they have to get sent to the downtown STL post office for actual routing.
Jack
