Why?
Perhaps I don't know enough about facebook, because I am trying to see the plus side to this. I suspect it is more income for the forum owner, but what benefit is it to the members?
Thanks,
Ken

i don't know about anybody else but I use facebook as a way to keep contact with casual (and close) friends, make plans for lunch, as a message center for family, see what is going on in the neighborhood (P. Allen Smith, MoDot for highway conditions, Missouri Native Plant society, local art center, etc) and now AirForums. Lots of people use facebook for games but I don't go there, takes too much time.

w7ts, we don't get any income from this. zero, zip, zilch. It's just for fun so everyone can see each other on facebook which is by far the most popular social networking site. Our goal is provide our members tools to connect and sometimes that means pointing them to connect on other services too.
I have updated the page so you can now see everyone's comments (thanks for pointing that out).
Bruno, you might need to be logged into facebook for the link to work.

Guess I'm too old-fashioned as well - and I'm under 40.
I did have a Facebook account once, and ended up cancelling it. I'm not the type of person who enjoys knowing when Johnny's baby has finally had a bowel movement, or why Janey is so happy that it's Friday and she gets to go out with the girls.
I call it too much information - a personal information overload. If I want to get in touch with my friends, I do so. But I guess I don't care about the mundane facebooking and twittering that many are a fan of.

Andy,
I have FB open, I click on your link, it takes me to Facebook. Nothing is different there... Just...I'm in Facebook. Now what do I do? Do I need to fill out a "Quantcast Profile"? If so, forget it...

MacFrodge,
No, that's Twitter. "Golly the baby burped!" "No way! You have a photo?"
Facebook is more, you like something that someone else said, or your game you are playing does something (and asks other people for something), or somebody you barely know wants you as a friend because they are having a contest to see how many they can get.
Having said that, it keeps me a bit more up to date on what our two children (who live in Ottawa, a five hour drive) are doing...

I'm with it, too, though it is a bit extraneous. I suspect it's not intended as an alternative communication tool to Airforums, but rather as a way to spread the word about Airforums. That's ok by me. If more folks with Airstreams find Airforums just because there is an Airforums placement on FB, that's good.
