Living in Michigan you will reside in one of two peninsulas. The upper, aka the "U.P." or lower peninsula, aka....well,... the lower. These peninsulas are connected by "The Mighty Mac", aka the Mackinaw Bridge. Those living in the U.P. are often called "Da Youpers" while da youpers lovingly refer to those of us living in the lower as "Trolls" because we live .............. below the bridge!

Don't see them much in these forums, but I've often seen DW (dear wife) and DH (dear husband) on other forums. Naturally, some folks take the D to mean something a little more demeaning.
