Ah yes, I spied that and was interested in the supposed accident and how the fellow managed to make a good thing out of a bad thing. IMHO he made a bad thing even worse but then again it was over 30 years ago. I'm not sure I buy the story though as the years don't fit the story

a 1964 AIRSTREAM TRAILER mounted on a 1964 INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER 3/4 ton pickup truck. Here is the story: In 1969 fella in Las Cruces, New Mexico retired after years as a metal worker. He bought a nearly new Airstream trailer and a brand new International pick up to pull it and he hit the road. His first trip out just miles from home the trailer came loose, he hadn't hooked it right.

Ah well, we can only hope there are very few of these conversions out there.

I would have to agree. The class C reads better than the story.

yeah that thing is a one and only ,it's the orignal AS motor home ! Rough but strangely cool ,after all it IS an airstream! I guess he didn't like to tow.But loved his silver home.
