Resizing Pictures?
I need help. I've tried to attach photos to a few different threads. My photos are to large though. I'm sure this has to be a simple process? I tried looking it up under search...But, I can't find any posts on it. Help me please....
Thanks

Alaska... Check out the threads in the posts above..they will be helpful. A lot depends on what software you have avaialbe to you... You'll need some sort of photo editing program like "Paint" or "Photoshop Lite" to edit images. Your digital camera software probably has a photo editing software with it, too. Some programs will be easier to use than others and set up to allow straightforward editing without much reference to the technical goop that's involved...just poke around in them and experiment and you'll get there.
A little "technical goop" since you might run into to terms: for pictures on the web you don't need a high-resolution image for a good picture...72 pixels per inch (or dots per inch=dpi) saved as a medium-quality file in JPG format will be sufficient. Anything of higher resolution is overkill and will will be a larger file.
I use the rule of thumb for my uploads of images 10" wide x 10" high (720 pixels x 720 pixels) at 72 dpi...this will yield both a good quality image for the web and a file size that is well within the 300k limit of forum uploads. (The forum allows 1024 x 1024 pixels—roughly 14" x 14" at 72 dpi—and 300k.)
I hope this helps...good luck!

resizing pics
Really easy tool available from Microsofts website for free
called Image resizer. Its one of their powertools and a tiny little file. Just type in image resizer in a search engine and look for the microsoft link. To use just right click the image and choose the size.

I don't know what digital camera software wouldn't have a resizing tool. Yes, my world is flat too...
Most PCs probably come with some photo handling software bundled in. Right-click on the file and check out 'Open with...' in the little drop-down menu. Ignore IE, Firefox, Paint. Check it out.

Thanks
Ahhh...I love this lil community of Airstreams. Everyone is so helpful.
My co-worker says I'm obsessed. I'll post new pics soon of our recovered seats and throw pillows. Curtains are my next project.

My old stompin grounds. Lived in Anchorage '74 to '83. LOVED Alaska and still miss it. I just last week bought a 66 Caravel in Boise. I live in Silverton, Oregon. It's in the shop for work on the heater and a couple of other things, but I'll post some pictures soon. Really pumped about the whole Airstream thing, and this website is great. Would love to bring the Caravel to Alaska someday on an extended vacation, maybe ferry the inside passage again.
