Hi Ralph, Did you ever get any answers to your questions about the water heater and such ?

I have a Caravel too, same as yours.

Awning Arrives

Greetings Caravel Owners,
My new awning arrived yesterday in time for the Perry Rally, but not quite finished polishing. I have approx. 60 hrs of actual polishing, a bit more with the painting and a thousand details that most don't even see. I couldn't resist setting up the awning with the help of my wife...We will be packed and ready to roll come Monday in time for the Pre Rally Vintage crowd. Hope to see some of you there.

Caravel Parts for Sale

Hey,
I thought this would be a good place to post an FYI. I have original 66 Caravel parts in storage. I rather see them go to a good AS than the dump. So I hope it's okay to post something like this in the Caravel thread.

Yes you can do that. If you decide to go that route SAVE the old cover. As far as I can tell those covers are specific to that model of water heater and to Caravels.

Someone will want it. Trust me.

You can also reuse/modify the old cover to fit the new WH.

My new awning arrived yesterday in time for the Perry . . . (quote) There's nothing like an old-fashioned scallop-edged awning to put the most festive finishing touch on a camp site. Our Old Blue canvas family-sized Sears tent was patched, resewn, ducktaped, but set up with the awning pulling tight to the breeze, she looked like she'd come straight from the tournament fields of the Age of the Troubadours! Your Caravel and awning look stunning ~G

Caravel at Perry Rally

Thanks for the compliment on my awning. I perfer the period look, with poles and all. They actually will stand more wind than some of the other types, as some heavy thunder storms and high winds hammered us, all of the pole type awnings hung in there until extremely high winds forced us to take them down until the storm passed. It was nice putting faces with the names of many forums members, and talking vintage stuff, and polishing demonstrations. Attached are a couple of photos where we parked, there were about 53 Vintage Trailers in our area, with a nice happy hour under the Vintage Oak Tree every afternoon....we had a very nice time with all.
