'66 Caravel table question

Hi all, after a recent visit to a repair facility the table leg for the fold out table has gone missing - and after looking at the underside of the table top, I'm confused as to what all the metal parts are for. Seems like the table leg was stored in the hollow square "tube" above the table. can someone refresh my memory on how the table is properly supported - with photos - so I can have a new one made.

thank you!

paula

I don’t know the proper way, but I just got the folding table leg from Vintage Trailer Supply, does the trick.
