I get it completely! It was all in my hair. I should have put all the wasp nests together and taken a photo. Thankfully,I didn't have the carcasses others have talked about. Yuk!

Cliff, I am very interested in where you got your aluminum, how you make your c channel, and the vents you do for the belly pan. What are you doing to the frame? Are you repainting?

Boys were born at 816 and 819 am two sacks 1 plesenta 23 and 26 grams Elliot (1st) is having a little difficulty oxy but doing okay both vaginally I ask at the hvac supply where to get aluminum bent and he sent me to a local fabricator that also will order and sell the aluminum. He (fabricator) said that since the frame is a lighter guage that I could bring the outriggers in and he could probably make that to. I have an alternate plan if he can't and as for the paint yes we will be reprinting Jeannie said she want a denim fabric and a gun metal blue color and for the bath some shade of red same for the fridge vent. I am making the mold for the vent but that is further down the list. I am still looking for a plumbing vent, VTS is out of stock and if I can not find them I will have to make them. Fabrication of fiberglass and minor plastic items I can do. Although I at one time taught body finder repair and gas welding I have not done it in more than 30 years and if I remember correctly my beads always looked like crap (not my favorite thing). The vents I got At lowes and if I remember the next time I go I will look at the manufacture so your dh can order them himself they are the aluminum wall vents (between studs) normally installed after blowing insulation. Half inch foam strips (airspace) then 2 inch foam board with aluminum sheet side up for belly pan. 4 vents 2 middle and 2 back for belly pan screen on the inside to stop visitors. I have 1 wheel well outrigger that has 2 inch holes and the back one on the same side was mangled by a blown tire.

I am so excited about those precious babies. Such a blessing when they can be born vaginally. My sister was able to have hers that way. Oxygen is pretty normal. Glad that is all. Twin grandsons look out grandpa!

Gonna take some pictures this weekend but just about time to take it to the welders. Not as bad as we thought but still needs some work.

Welcome (a bit late) to the Caravel club. We have a 66 too. Unfortunately we bought ours October of 2010 and it sat with few things done to it and a shop. Then all we were able to do is gut it, once we saw the water damage to wood. We also had floor rot under the bathroom, but it was easily patched. We have everything but the bathroom out. We are waiting to get a new tow vehicle and then take it to someone a couple hours away in our camp group. We just realized we really are clueless and are afraid to spend money and time and do the wrong thing. So, we will get some ideas on where to start from our friend Lance.

You aren't alone. Look forward to hearing your progress. I have a blog here somewhere and forgot how to post and access it!

Not alone is right! We also have a 65 that has a frame looking very similar to yours RM. I am doing the body on, but your photos show we are at similar stages in our restoration process. Keep chugging at it and it will be finished some day. That's what I keep telling myself anyway.

Thanks Jerbear the hardest part of deconstruction was the 1 piece shower unit. The end caps were not as hard! Ended up renting a storage unit for all of the parts! I must say that once it was out the stress level went to the green and taking the shell off was actually fun. Okay the buck rivet removal was not as fun but after this week I can start putting this jigsaw puzzle back together! We are looking forward to that! Jewel since we are replacing the whole floor shell off was the only way but I have found it much easier to work it this way and I have to replace a 6 foot panel on the curb side from where a tire blew and the wheel well needed work also.

Trust me, you just keep finding more stuff to replace or fix or re-do. At least we finally are getting a tow vehicle and can drag it to an airstream friend who has a shop!

Every time you post, it sounds like the same problems. We have to replace a panel or two on one side where it appears there was a blow out and there was belly and panel damage by the wheel well on the other side.

Did your shower stall crack and crumble or did it hold up when coming out? My husband is afraid to take ours out, but really wants to put a dedicated bed in back and a side wet bath. I prefer to maintain the original floor plan.
