Gotta have a vent cuz I do not want Jeannie to throw me out to do the bear in the woods thing.

I really don't know my electrical load. It was one of the first improvements I made when I got the Tradewind. I have since gone to two 6v golf cart batteries, LED lights and removed the Armstrong AC unit in favor of a small 5k window unit (when needed). The 45 amp size seems to work fine for me. I suppose larger would charge up faster, but whats the hurry.

I have changed all my interior lights to LED and still use the original light fixtures. You can see how I did this if you look at posts 37-40 of the thread titled "To LED or not to LED":

If you are interested in looking at my window AC thread go here:

Okay help no longer required saws all and tin snips took care of the rust weld I could not reach. Used aluminum tape to cover the exhaust hole and will be replacing that panel anyway due to multiple poorly applied patches. Heater and pipe to heater good extension ato outside vent slightly damaged. Will not be reinstalling the heater. Next road side to bath. Bath is last out. Colin said that build start date on axle is 4-23. Lots to do in the mean time.

Re: Refrigerator vent repair...I had the same issue on my '66 Caravel; mixed up some of that 2-part epoxy (in red and black tubes) and applied as smooth as possible. When it set I spray painted the entire vent (still in place) with that Krylon spray paint made just for plastic. Looks great after eight years...

Thanks I am planning to try the fiber glass because I will be removing the inner shell to repair leaks and replace the insulation and wiring. Should be a learning thing.

Sounds good! I have the same problem, and it's slowly gotten worse. This might be the year to finally give it a shot. Thanks for sharing your technique!

Okay it is my weekend and yes it is raining! So I will do some work inside and take and post pictures! I am breaking out the drimmel today and cutting the rusted stripped out anger inducing 2 inch screws! Running out of space in the garage for the airstream parts so gotta make the sacrifice and get rid of some more old non used stuff! Just gotta figure out weather it should be Jeannies or the grandchildrens stuff!

We will be replacing the oven with a 3 burner cook top and a microwave. Jeannie said we are holding the oven for the time being! Since she is the brains of the outfit I will do anything she suggest cuz 99% of the time she is right!! Gotta love a smart woman!

We've never regretted keeping the oven. We've actually used it quite a bit while camping unplugged.

Since my cooking skills are limited to hotdogs steak burgers and Mac and cheese and Jeannie is not baking anything on vacation then no need for the oven! If we will be going Long haul then I am taking the generator! I can microwave!

pictures

More pictures and some questions.
1. po shortened shelf using screws duct tape and a SAW. current plans are to remove the remaining part and fiberglass patch over the mod then put a wooden shelf on it.
2. I thought I knew what a wire nut was but now I know there are 2 and only one is used on wiring the other tried to modify the wiring!
Hopefully the pictures only post once the user is challenged and I still have to empty the water tank and clean up the 40 year old canned ham!
