Just pull the hose off the back & silicone the hole to keep bugs out, then install a new AGM battery. They don't require venting like wet cells do.

Your very welcome.

You most likely will find more "whats this".

Just post a photo and ask away.

Okay Andy I do have another question since the next phase of the caravel renovation is the shell, should I add the front and back clearance lights? They (airstream) seem to have installed enough wire to add them and even though they are only required on newer trailers in North Carolina we are considering adding them just in case they the state requires they be added in the future. Do you carry them and no we are not going original but we would like them not to detract from the looks. If you carry them a part number would help because I do want the right ones.

I will be adding the photos of the frame to shell reunion soon son in law is coming to help do the bucking. If it rains (not suppose to) then I will get a freaking tent cause I am tired of waiting for the time and dry weather!

Cliff, I think most will tell you to add the lights. Most of those people will tell you to convert to LED at the same time. I am not most. I like old school incandescent and I also like the trailers with out the extra clearance lights. My 62 just has the four corners required at the time and I like it that way. I proves it's place in history.

Hi Cliff,
I agree with Frank. There is no need for adding extra lights. It detracts from the beautiful shape of the front and rear end caps in my opinion. Keep your caps bare! I don't like the look of LEDs on older trailers either. I have a friend with a '48 Liner that has LED tail lights. He told me I should get LEDs for added "safety". You know what happened to him? He was rear ended on a bright sun shiny day while travelling on the Interstate at 60 MPH. Sad story, but my point is sometimes bad things happen no matter how many LED lights you have.

Thanks frank and top I will go with your advise did not want them in the first place! Leaving newbern nc this afternoon I noticed a caravel sized airstream in a back yard, I am thinking of stopping and talking to them about it and would have snapped a picture but I was driving. If I talk to him and they are interested in selling for a decent price either of you interested? I have all the caravel that I want it still looking for that 74 overlander, don't know why but I am!

I have a Caravel in the shop, one waiting out in the yard, and another Caravel coming in for work in about a month. It has been raining Caravels lately at Frank's Trailer Works. They are quickly becoming my favorite trailers.

Thank you! I have been looking for a junction box for the trailer harness to keep life simple in the case of future maintenance, or simply put decrease the amount of blood I shed in the future! I have the rims that she came with but am looking for a source of aluminum rims for her anybody know of a reasonable supplier?

Hey Frank

I'm not sure if the one you are talking about coming in a month is mine. If not put me in the que.
