The first times I used it, I searched in "RV" section.
It returned less results than a general search. We missed an Airstream that way. It was sold by the time we called. I never saw it in doing a RV search.
Well, sorry to hear that. I suppose they must have made a mistake when classifying it.
It found me a unit only 40 minutes from me. A 1992 A/S, I think it was 34', for about $17,000. I don't know if it was a great deal or not but I decided to look for something more compact and a bit older.

The problem with the "RV" search on Thrifty Nickel is twofold: First, people do not always choose to list their Airstream in the RV section, for whatever reason. Second, not all editions of the Thrifty Nickel even have an RV section.
There is a similar problem in searching RVTRADERONLINE.COM. There too you will miss a lot of Airstream listings if you limit your search to "travel trailers". The problem is that in listing the unit, the owner has to choose a category. One of the choices is "Class A". Many Airstream owners don't know what "Class A" means, but figure an Airstream must be it!
