argh!

I am SO SICK of everybody else finding their flipping Airstream hiding in somebody's flipping weeds! I have never even seen an Airstream in person EVER & just have to keep scouring eBay like a yahoo & try to figure out how people like Shari know that the bellypan aluminum on, oh, the 1864 Airstream varies slightly from the exterior but that the bellypan on, oh, the 1865 (factory demand after the North won, ya know) is XXblahblah24.

I don't know that much about my boyfriend, my sewing machine, my profession, my silly truck or even my own psyche, for that matter. Dammit, I'm getting FRUSTRATED.

All right, having gotten that off my chest... tincanluv, the aesthetic choices in your restoration work are really top-notch, and the energy is infectious. Congratulations on spotting the wreck in somebody else's weeds.

Great Site!

Ron and Tony,
Love the trailer and the site! I like your fabric choices as well. We use to drive around endless hours looking for airstreams. I love that moment in time when you see one, or just a glint of silver and anticipate slowing down to see if it is junked or not. It will be very sad to see our '67 go down the road with someone else! Enjoy your trailer!

Melissa

jem,

I used Web Easy 5 from Best Buy, at $59.95. I am pretty much computer illiterate ( bought first computer just over three months ago), and hate to read, so books on web design are out. While the program was downloading, or uploading, or whatever it does, I skimmed through the manual that comes with it, and voila! A website. THe first was so silly, because I never expected it to work, I did it in three hours. So I spent a little more time putting a nicer one together. very easy to do... VERY EASY. I recommend it to everyone. It's the best sixty bucks I have ever spent.

Thanks!

ROn

I think it's where you live that's the problem. The day we bought our first, which was I guess a month ago, we saw seven others, parked here and thered within the first hour of heading home. We are planning to head back to Southern MO to see if we can get anyone to sell. Hopefully down there, they don't know what these babies are worth.

When we headed up to CHicago a couple of weeks ago, we scanned the hillsides all the way.. Only one...it was about 45 minutes before we hit the Joliet exit, hidden in the trees, with a huge dent in the side. I'm going to leave a note on it next time we head back up to Chicago, I figure it might be good for parts. Maybe we can get it cheap...

Keep your eyes peeled, you'll see on soon. Melissa is right, that moment when you see one stuck somewhere, your heart starts pounding faster and faster...it's great!!!

Ron

Summerkid, we went through the same process and bought a trailer sight unseen from someone in TeNN (we are in TX) and a huge van in IL, both e-bay finds with lots of talking back and forth. It's only since we took the trailer apart that I have learned alot. I didn't know about the service some members are offering of checking out the trailer for you. We lucked out on the Van owned by a German-American who kept it in perfect shape. The trailer has it's faults, but we knew we were stripping it out and rebuilding it. If I wasn't going to be living it it full-time for some months, I'd definatel get a small. two axle. one I thought I'd never find one and the next day we had one. Just find out by reading as much as you can. Good luck, Silver Suz

Yeah yeah yeah.... I don't know how this thread popped back up.....it's been a while. I'm glad I updated the sight last night....first time since early March.

Actually, I AM spending to much time on the computer, but all in the name of airstreams. I go to work, go to the airstream, and hit the computer...it's crazy. I have to keep the website up for my financier, she's braging all over California about it. But you're right,,,,NO TIME!!!!

Thanks for taking a look.
