It's even more amazing that they stretched that Argosy and added a second axle!!

I thought something looked funny about the "before" Argosy! I have to say though, that the pictures of that finished Argosy are a HUGE inspiration for me..... now I'm thinking I just may go get some Nuvite, as that shine is just awesome!

The end caps were painted and it truly looked like a job well done. The question in my mind now is why would a respectable business post a misleading ad on their website?

This is just a SWAG, but I bet they did not think to take before pictures of the 24 footer, I would bet they got the job to do the little Argosy based on the outcome of the polished one.

I know I can polish small aluminum parts much faster with my pedestal mounted Baldor buffer. But there is no way to get the Baldor buffer on the skin of an Airstream. Baldor motors turn at 3000 or so rpm I think.

That's a DeWalt variable speed buffer. I have one. It's great.

Herb - that is what I use too. Great machine - it will throw you off a ladder if your not careful - very powerful machine......

Have you ever tried buffing like the guru? Notice he's put a 12" by 1" buffing wheel on the Dewalt polisher and is using it on the edge rather than putting the large flat surface against the aluminum. This would seem to give the same capability I have with my Baldor stand mounted buffer. It might thow the operator around I guess. If I ever let a piece of automotive stainless present an edge to the wheel it goes flying before you can recover.

I have not - I use wool pads - I saw his buffing wheel - he really gets a nice job out of it. The DeWalt goes from 1000 - 3000 rpm if that helps - I usually stay at 1000

I noticed that he mentions an acid bath as one of the steps involved in polishing. I remember Andy at Inland mentioning that it was a bad idea to use acid. I also noticed that Andy also no longer plugs him on the Inland website.

I wonder what kind of a job having 2 or three of those 12" wheels on the buffer together would do? Hmm.... the hamster's on the wheel now....

Sorry didn't mean to mislead anyone, I had two Argosy's on the lot just to prove they can be polished. The original pics of the other one was damaged. This is just an example of what I can do in polishing them. People can say what ever they want, but that's the procedure on aircraft aluminum for the last 50 years, and it hasn't hurt them or any of the coaches I have polished. After all it is aircraft aluminum on an airstream. Some of the aircraft I have polished was worth over 2 million dollars, and I got no complaints on the use of acid nor the Airstreams, it takes out the impurities in the aluminum before the polishing procedure. You just have to stick to the method that has been proven, and not others speculated opinions. If you all want to talk to about 200 satisfied customers, I've got phone numbers. Or call an aircraft paint shop in your area.

Oh don't worry, I believe what you say! I believed it the first time I saw the picture of that 34' Legend Limited. Wow! If mine looked half that good, I'd be a happy camper, indeed!
