Although, you DO realize that this is precisely what Rob just did to YOU... right?
Ah, but do YOU realize that back in January Rob fell victim to similar tactics perpetrated by me? We all conspire to enable each others addiction... it's a side effect of prolonged exposure to shinny aluminum.
So I have been very very slowly tinkering with the Globetrotter, just to have some campable object nearby. Of course most of my time goes into the client project, but every once in a while a few minutes are spent with the Globerotter.
Here's where it's at: Grey tank (26gal) is in, all the plumbing under the belly is done.
The original dump valve is a paperweight now, an adapter plate replaced it.
One of these days I should fill the tanks and test for leaks, but optimistic me will probably shlep it out to camp in and test it then.
I still need to close up the belly, it has wide open gaps now. And, it needs tires and a converter/charger installed. But theoretically, it's ready to go....
Wasn't looking for one - goodness knows the 6 metre is keeping us busy and it is still not done. But, just could not pass up the opportunity to restore an original 63 globetrotter...this thread only makes it all the more appealing...you can see it on ebay (item 320274325226). Won't know if it came with "the table" until we pick it up in 3 - 4 weeks, but it's great to read all about it...

I saw it on ebay last week. Nice Globetrotter, nice price. Congratulations!

George,
Nice find, complete unit, seemingly honest description.
It's pretty much exactly like mine, only perhaps a bit more rustic. The table is really not that big a deal, could easily be replicated with some trick hardware.
Please feel free to ask if you want info on tanks, wiring etc. , or just stay tuned here, I will eventually post pics of the progress.
