I've been thinking of a "couple" trailer just for Mona and I.
Can't wait to see what you end up doing with it!

This has a new axle, and new brakes, so the disc brake update would be in the more distant future, after we decide what we're doing with it.
It doesn't have grey water storage. It is all original in that aspect.
I will probably add a small converter/charger to help the 12V system become more stable. Right now the battery is only charged from the tow vehicle.
.........other than the dump valve seepage and the tires.

We have been wondering about tires on a single axle, are there tires available that will not blow out and damage a trailer?
A buddy mentioned that they are out there.
I know under inflation leads to most blowouts.

What a great find. I have always like the GT size & layout & almost bought one about a month ago...you know, one for the kids!
Check the pictures by forums member wagsrp. He shows in detail how to overhaul the brass dump valve. One of my coworkers (a tech) used those pictures as a guide to overhaul my dump valve. If you need the details I can get them in the morning.

When we repaired my dump valve, we installed new o-rings, gaskets & sealer, reinstalled back in the Airstream & it still leaked (bench tested OK). The bass slide valve was warped & had to be straightened and ground down to seal to the brass.

We have been wondering about tires on a single axle, are there tires available that will not blow out and damage a trailer?
A buddy mentioned that they are out there.
I know under inflation leads to most blowouts.
It scares me a little bit, too. But I have never had any tire problems with any of my trailers. I will buy some new ones for the Globetrotter, or use the ones from the Flying Cloud, which I just bought very recently. The Flying Cloud isn't ready to camp in yet.

I see you have a wally table. I have not seen many of these still with the trailer. We finally got around to renewing ours after five years of looking at the green spray painted legs and broken plastic edging. Sanded legs and repainted, and replaced plastic edging with metal.

I was looking over your pics Uwe - great shape for that age! Just one observation - careful cooking with those rear burners - that drape looks close when closed.
Enjoy the trailer! I have a feeling you'll be adding the area63 touch soon - it's always hard to leave them alone!

It doesn't look quite the same as both of your photos (note my square corners) - yet the formica seems to match the rest of our trailer. All I know is that it seemed to have been tucked away in the closet, untouched for decades.

It seems that ours is in good condition, and does match the cream colored counter top.

Your table looks great, too. Mine will fit betwen the goucho and the galley cabinet/heater grille, since it is quite narrow.

I just want to do minor repairs on this one. The wood paneling and the cabinet fronts are sort of dry, I was thinking of trating them with lemon oil, or a suitable commercial wood treatment. I usually deal with new wood, therefore this is a research project for me.
you could try some teak oil on your cabinets, it'll really bring out the richness, but try it in an inconspicuous spot to see if it works well with your wood.

Uwe, I am not trying to highjack here... This table, It is original? Mine came with a drop leaf style. It has a metal scroll work at the top of the legs. Sorry I do not have a photo, but I have seen others discussing ones exactly like it and someone said that it was the original table at the last rally. My real question is this: I have heard that there were hooks and a strap to restrain it while in travel. Do you know anything about this? I have scoured the archive photos and do not see it in the years close to 1962. I also do not see any locations that might have had hooks that were removed. Maybe I should go take photos of the table and then post this question elsewhere. Sorry if I am highjacking here.
