Wow! you stole it Welcome to the forums.

The original dry weight on the '62 GT was 2770 lbs with a hitch weight of 400 lbs.

$300 purchase with no title - are you sure (comfortable) with the ownership background of the trailer? I'd hate to see anyone get "taken"

Thanks!

Yes am comfortable..owner had died and it was abandoned on an estate. The person hired to clean up the property. I think it was Mr. Haney from Green Acers, had piled all the crap in it and then overheated coming over the mountain. I stopped to help and commented that it was a nice trailer.. He said do you want to buy it? He asked for 300! I took it to the local District Justice and got everything done.. Now I just need the gross vehicle weight.. Yes I "stole" it. I was offered 3k for it and turned it down!

Per my earlier email to you ...

Coldwell replied on 6-26-07 at 1:58 p.m.:

Hi Lance:

For a 1962 19' Globe Trotter:

Dry weight = 2,770 pounds
Hitch weight = 400 pounds
Gross weight = 3,500 maximum.

Look at the maximum carrying capacity of your 2 tires. If they are less than 1,750 pounds each, then the trailer' gross weight is their sum: for example only, 1650 + 1650 = 3,300.

I'm very pleased to tell you that my airstream now has a tag and registration! Its kind of shabby looking and needs tail light lenses etc. any links to sites would be appreciated. I had one problem... they asked me how much it weighed and what the gross vehicle weight was... I had no clue. its a 62 globetrotter. Can you help? Thanks Lance

I also have a 1962 globetrotter. I am trying to figure out what size garage I am going to need for it. Can someone tell me how tall it is? Also is it more than 8 feet wide on the outside?
