Floor's gone in Stinky now!

the holiday's have been really crazy around here, andi haven't had a free second to work on any of the trailers myself! i kinda miss it! anyway, here's an updated pic of the (now) floor-less stinky! Todd Coleman's doing the floor replacement and frame painting part of this for me, then it's back to my place to replace the rear quarter skins, move the tail lights inboard, and replace the front window. it's got a list a mile long of stuff to do to it, so i'll take it as it comes... no rush on tis one...

Man, you got it bad...or is it good? In an effort to be more like you, we're looking in to moving so we have more space and I can have an Airstream shop. A two-car garage just isn't enough. Then we'll have courtesy parking.

I also like the typestyle of the "51". It came that way? Looks cool to me.

It does look like something that could have been in Forbidden Planet.
Area 51? Trailer 51? I'm just saying is all...

If you find any pods beneath the skins I'd leave them alone.

a couple mor epics from the shop

well, todd's got all of the floor out, and is planning on cleaning up and paintint the frame this week. then he's going to strip the inside for me, and install teh new floor. THEN things are back in my court. it feels a little funny not doing all the dirty stuff myself, but i've got my other little guy to focus on (now that the holidays are over). with any luck, both of these beasts will be (remotely) campable by april. they'll look so similar from teh outside, but so vastly different on teh inside. what a treat!

anyway, on to the pics. the frame looks great. no rust-through anywhere! the belly's dropped in anticipation of putting in the new floor (with bolts). as i mentioned, once it's back, i'll replace the 2 rear quarter skins, and do some quick window work to get it water-tight as fast as possible.

Summer's Here!

man, i haven't posted to this in a WHILE. since then, i've gotten the trailer back, with the new floor and frame done. VERY tight! the smell is all but gone. Todd did a great job on teh floor. i know i'd have never gotten it done during the cold months. now it's time to get back on the skin and sealing her up! here's a pic of the final floor...

TODAY'S update...

now for today's offerings. it's EBAUTIFUL outside, so i took a long lunch, installed a couple of patches and window glazing. she's now got new glass in the 2 smaller side windows, as well as a new frame and glass on the front (courtesy of 59toaster... thanks again!!!).

after that, i removed one of the rear sewer vents. the trailer has 3 vents in as many feet, and the farthest one back is just plain ugly, both inside the trailer as well as out... so it's gone. i'll double things up on one of the remaining 2. this called for a little circular patch to cover the hole. Stinky also had a small puncture in the front corner, so i went ahead and did a patch for that as well. all that's left, patch-wise on the trailer is the big hole by the door. i'm thinking about putting in a recessed porch lite there, set in the 8 1/2" patch. should be cool! stay tuned! maybe this week, if the wether holds.

here's a few pics for ya...

Hey, I think that window from Toaster came from me. Was the aluminum red in color? I have a lead on a few more, if anyone reading this is interested. Things are looking good, keep at it and post more pix.
