So I have been thinking that I have a 1961 Safari since I got it last June. Now I am looking at the serial number and wondering if it is a 1960. The only reason I was double checking was because when I pulled the inside skins out I found someone had written "02-26-1962", so I thought maybe it was a '62.

What do you think?
Yes, it is a 1961 and my records show that it was made in California.
OK, thanks Andy and Jimbcole. Yeah, I found those pics too. The louvered glass window in the door seems to be somewhat unique. But the "12 60" seems to indicate December 1960. Anyway, thanks for confirming.

The date of manufacture has nothing to do with the year.
Cars on the market today are called 2015.
Airstream has always followed the same pattern.
The next years models come out in the early fall, the year prior.
