I remember reading where to purchase reproduced manuals for airstreams. Did I write it down, no. Did I bookmark it in the computer, no. Do I remember where I read it, no. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Why doesn't someone comeout with these manuals in a pdf format? IMHO, I think it would serve this board greatly if we could have a resource center like that. Then you would be able to download and print it out yourself, not have to wait, and have it readily available again if you lost your own. But I guess that would infringe on someones capitolistic monopoly on the manuals and they would lose their revenue.
Anyway, it is a thought. I think, I will copy my manual first. I will post it in a pdf format. Then anyone can use it who needs it.
First give me time to get it all together.
Steve

The owners manual I have is over 80 pages and is printed horizontal not vertical on 8.5 X 11. That would be a HUGE file. The service manual (which is not made for pre 70's) is even bigger.
Great idea, however I am not sure my computer/printer/email storage are up for that kind of transmission.

A 1975 "SERVICE MANUAL" is 361 pages long, and is all horizontal pages. A informational manual such that, is never "free." For that matter, the "owners manuals", which are smaller in comparison, still cost someone to put it together and print it. Obtaining publications "free" should and does have reasonable limits. Andy
It is my understanding that prior to the early 70's there is no service manual available from Airstream. Prior to the early 60's there is no owners manual available from Airstream. Only individual manuals were given for each system (furnace, hot water heater ect). If you contact Helen Davis for a reprint and she does not have one, it's cause there isn't one to be reprinted.
My guess was that lots of data and info was given by the delivering dealership. And if you had any concerns you would return to the dealership and they would help out.
Times have changed. Now an owners manual contains so many disclosures of how not to hurt yourself. It is mostly for the manufacturer's protection so they don't get sued because the buyer was never told how to operate the unit properly.
just my opinion.

hello
does ayone have a copy of an airstrea manual that would work for a 1973 airstream sovereign. I'd be willing to give a couple of bucks for your trouble ... email or call me - or if you could fax it too that would be great
