Aluminum Tanks

Tom just made me aware of the relatively high tongue weight of the Tradewind models. I wonder how much weight one can save by using these aluminum tanks, and if it is worth it. I need new tanks, mine were last certified when I was in Elemtary school in Europe......
Anyways, perhaps you can share your ideas with these tanks. I saw a thread that had a good source for these tanks.

I have Worthington aluminum tanks on mine, I had them refilled the day before the opd took effect so I have some gas to burn before recertification & new valves needed, anyway you might look in www.airstreamtrailers.com under parts there 2 (I think) LP bottle companies there, also check AirstreamDreams they carry them also. I dont know what the weight difference is between the two styles but for weight purposes I'd rather have the aluminum ones.

UWE, I didnt mean to alarm you about the tounge weight .Dont worry about the tanks although alum does look cool its not necessary. My concern was putting putting 2 batteries at 60 pounds each ,adding 120 pounds to tounge just doesnt seem like a good idea. Steel tanks dont really weigh that much its the propane that has most of the weight, 28 pounds or something like that. Tom
