'72 Tradewind - Full Restoration, Need Door

I am doing a full shell off restoration on my 72 Tradewind. Right now I am looking for anyone who might have either the full entrance door or just the front door handle. I know the have brand new ones out there for just under 500.00 but trying to keep cost down some.
Thanks for any help on this matter.

Welcome to the Forums! Yeah, I'm afraid that's a tough one. They were made by KT, however are obsolete now.Used ones come up on ebay once in a while but expect to pay $250 for a corroded handle with no key. That is usually the first thing to go when someone is parting out a 70's era Airstream.

Handle

Is your handle missing or just inoperable? If everything is there, it can be made to work again. If it's just the handle, have you looked at trying to adapt a handle from a newer lock mechanism?

I also was wondering where the best place to get the bulb type rivets. I have been on numerous sites, just wondering if there are any better than others. I do have nothing but great things to say about Out of doors mart though. I needed the straight aluminum floor track and on there site they said it could be 2-6 weeks delivery and got it in one week. Also who has the best price on a rivet shaver? Thanks for all your help so far.

Removal 220

Has anyone used the removall220 for removing the clear coat on the aluminum. If so does it work good, or is there another product that will work. I would like to do my corner wraps and some of the underbelly panning before I reinstall it. Any help is always much appreciated. THANKS.......

Yeah, it works great! I brush it on, let it sit until it bubbles a bit then use the pressure washer to get it off. Wait a day until the driveway dries, then sweep it up.
Colin
PS Vintage Trailer Supply sells it
