1971 TradeWind New Owner

Hello All,

After 2 years of searching I finally found a trailer that I can call my own. Just yesterday I had my 1971 22' Trade Wind Land Yacht delivered to my house by the out of state seller that I had puchased it from.

At 21 years of age, us young guns can get quite ....... well how should i put this????? IMPATIENT! When it comes to getting what we want and we often settle for the first thing we can get our hands on, resulting in a poor decision and poor use of money.

I am proud to say that because of everyone here I feel that I had the general knowledge of what to look for when I started my search for an AS. I cant thank you enough and look forward to sharing the process of the rebuild with you, as I know you will welcome me with open minds and honest opinions just like you have done with others in the past.

Again , Thank You!!!!

Spencer from Mid-Michigan

21 years old and already a vintage Airstream owner! I envy you. It's talken a lifetime of work to get to that point for us. The enjoyment is the same, the impatience is the same, and the poor decisions know no age limit. Just let us see some pictures of before and progress to the after.

I also have a 71 Tradewind. They come in several different layouts. Feel free to contact me if you need any info. But, a Tradewind is 25'. I think a 22 footer would be another model. Or is there a typo in your post?

welcome

Welcome, you will like your AS. The nice thing about the TW...as John HD remarked to me, it is the biggest of the small trailers or the smallest of the big trailers. Not too bad to manuver and park but still has space in it.

Check the furnace & make sure it is not the original..the old NT28?? (don't remember the model for sure) had some problems.

Have fun. I am still doing a lot of work on mine but it has been great when I have it on the road.
