Wiring, electrical issues
Hello, I have a 66 Tradewind that I bought about 10 years ago. I had an AC (New and first for trailer) unit placed in roof 9 years ago. Last spring I had to replace it , as it quit (motor?), anyway, had a second new AC placed. Last camping trip on a hot day last year, I had the unit running, along with a fan plugged into outlet at junction box where AC wires meet. I could see sparks behind the faceplate so I stopped everything. When the first AC unit quit, I had been at a park that was having issues, but they checked my power pole and said it was ok. The junction box in trailer however had to be replaced after that incident. At this point I hate to run this new AC unit until I'm sure the wiring is sufficient. I will visit with the RV business that placed the AC to see for sure what wiring he used and how he hooked it all up. My husband will visit with him, he understands electrical better than I. Any advice from those of you familiar with these trailers would be much appreciated. Thank you, Kelly
