I forgot to say that you want to allow alot of space in front of you and other vehicals ,drive a moderate speed and allow plenty of stopping distance also
slower speeds if allowed .Your only going about 10 miles but it might seem like 100 if things aren't right .

good luck there.

Running lights & blinkers

Has this Tradewind been towed recently, or more specifically has the umbilical been converted over to the 7-pin flat connectors most TVs have these days. A new trailer umbilical plug should be available at any RV or fleet business near you. I even have done the conversion in a cold rain. A few tools and planning should help. Towing with the the running lights and TV emergency flasher working will warn other traffic. Maybe plan to have another car behind you with their flashers going like you see when prefinished homes are being moved.

Your TV won't do a reliably safe job stopping this trailer from high speed. Holding the speed to 30mph or so would be advisable. Avoid rush hour. Is there a minimum speed on your freeways? Freeways actually could have a gentler grade than some 2 lane roads (depending on your local terrain).

Do the tires even hold air? But guess that goes along with what markdoane is saying. You definitely want to know whether the wheel bearings have been lubed in this century!

thanks Mark....we are getting about 2 inches of rain today so I decided to wait til sunday or monday to pick it up....also going to take my ice pick with me to ensure the floor is as good as I thought.....after looking at people replacing floors in these forums It has kinda scared me becuase I am not up for that much ....never realized how intergrel the floor is to the whole structure....after reading it seems that if your floor is rotten you may have a good chance of frame damage/rust too, anyway I am keep my fingers crossed that it is not in need because I really want it......but you have to think that whoever was restoring it had made the decision to replace the floor or else they would not have gutted it....on that note though I know it was bought and being restored for resale and not for personel use. lots of if's when buying an airstream is'nt there

ok everyone, lets start again I just got back from the trailer, I took lots of pics and I am going to try to put them all here. There are no leaks however as I started going around moving everything out of the way I found one area of severe rot under the kitchen.....the rest of the floor is pretty solid....useing max pressure with a sharp ice pick exerywhere else resulted in just a slight indention....the area under the kitchen speaks for itself....floor is completely solid approx 6 inches away from these spots. so go over all these pics and tell me what you think. Scott
