I have a new refer, that is slightly larger than the old, and needs a 12 volt wire run to it in order to operate the electronic switch for the propane/elec option. My question is, will I be able to add a wire for this - can it come from the control panel (right next door) or will it come from the converter/battery area in back??
You will need to figure out how much current the new Refer will draw. Once you have established this, check what amperage fuse is feeding the place you want to get the power from, will it handle the additional load? Also check the wire size, will it handle the additional current draw. 12awg. = 20amps, 14awg. = 15amps, 18awg. = 10amps.
With all this being said, install an appropriately sized fuse in line for the refer feed and it should not be a problem.
If your new fridge is a three way (which I doubt) the wire would have to run all the way back to the battery on a heavy gauge wire, like #10.
Your's is probably just for the control board so you could get away with finding power close by. I ended getting 12vdc from a power cigarette lighter port that was near by.

Thanks.

I ran one from the control pannel for my Dometic. It has worked fine for a year now.

Not sure how yours is wired, in mine if you turn on the overhead in the galley area, you can control it using the second switch near the door. That way you dont have to stumble around a dark camper looking for a light switch. Did that make any sense?

I removed the window, according to the directions on VTS's website. It had been put in by some PO (not mom's BF-he thought it was a privacy window ). The trim was on it, but badly crimped and wrinkled, so I ordered new trim from Inland. - [Which did NOT fit the glass. It must only fit lexan.]
After the window was out, I removed the old gasket with a putty knife. Next I put a wire brush attachment on my drill and in minutes all traces of old glue were gone. (Watch out for long sleeves and a corded drill !) Then I cleaned the area with mineral spirits and only 9 months later I installed new gasket and .... the WINDOW!!

Yes! That would be great. I was thinking it may have been the pump, like Tbrom said. I guess when all electric is back- I'll find out!
I am still in the process of having new aluminum trim made, but I needed the window clips on. So I put ribbon in between the clips and the glass (like they do when you need to pop batteries out) - that way it will be less scary when I take them off to install new trim!

The pump should be on the control panel next to the gauges for the fresh water and black water tanks.

The rear window was also plexi-glass... that you couldn't see through. It managed to keep some rain out, and it wasn't as ugly as the orange one, so I left that one in until a few weeks ago. It was actually the first window I replaced. I only paid $48 for it and got it locally so I decided to try my luck on that one!
I got the window all ready to install, called my big boy out to hold it while I pressed the glass bar onto the double-sided tape and screwed it into place. It was so simple, and exciting, that I lost sleep over it and did the curved one the next day!
I was trying to keep the original water tank in use, but it was quite funky, so I filled it with MANY different things... bleach water, soap, and even mouthwash . It was just too green... and we decided to do a U-shaped dinette, so I bought a new tank off eBay (60$). The new one is larger and different in shape so it can fit in the same place and still fit under a seat for the new dinette.
The only problem was the exterior tank fill need to be moved up. I didn't want an ugly patch so I came up with this instead. Two matching reflectors- make it look planned.
