Hey all! Newby, 1960 find.

Hey guys and gals,
bought this trailer, and have not been able to find out the serial id, it's a 1960 according to the previous owner, T (or I) - 240377T. I understanf the 24, and the 377, the T/I and T, twin bed?
We're really looking foreward to the resto, learning to weld, rivet, 12 volt, plumb etc. ! Been looking for a while, and this seems to be working out well, have to wait for dryer weather to get her home, then gantry, drill, lift and well, you know, love and work go hand in hand. I'll be looking for many pices of advice from you all, and will likewise share any tidbits. and photos.
Cheers,

Mike

Contrats on your TradeWind. How about some more pictures? We love to see pictures. Also, before you do anything, take tons of pictures of everything and then start a thread of your adventures in restoration or renovation. The pictures will certainly come in handy when you're ready to put it back together. BTW - what is strapped to the top, a vent cover?

Thumbs up Renovation project...

Good find - looks very similar to our '64 22' Safari that we are renovating (upgrading!) but trying to keep with the vintage ambiance! Have some spare parts if you are in need of anything! Good Luck!

Looks like we're starting this adventure at the same time. I just bought a 1961 (?) Trade Wind. Haven't gotten it home yet either.

Congrats on your find!

Mike

Congrats on your find and welcome to Air Forums. Good luck on your rescue activities.

I grew up in Detroit. I started my motorcycle touring in the early 60s by riding over the Ambassador Bridge to Sussex (?), eating lunch at a dairy bar there, perusing the junk yard next door and returning to Detroit via the Tunnel.

1960 TradeWind in CO

We just picked up or 1960 TradeWind. We have started to scrape the layers and layers of purple, orange, blue and brown paint from the interior.

The trouble we are having is we are missing three window sashes. The front window, the back window and the passenger side, all are Hehr 1009 19 40 ER, basically the clearview windows made from 1958-1960.

If anyone know of a retrofit, or any one who can reproduce these... please let us know.

I will keep watching your renovation project.
