Has anyone got a 1966 Tradewind Owners Manual

Hi,
Has anyone got a copy of a 1966 Tradewind Owners manual, or is it worth ordering of the airstream site? Just wondering if it is worth the $48 as I heard the first manuals were basic? - Thanks.

Please understand that any copying of the manual would be against copyright laws that Airstream currently still holds. As to whether it is worth $48, I can't comment...

When I tried to locate one 7+ years ago I discovered that there were no manuals printed for then I found one, a later model, that I could download. However, as I began replacing the original aging 'equipment' the manuals for the replacements slowly became A manual.

Airstream has recently added the manuals to their store, I believe they go all the way back to 1964. I'm sure the early ones were pretty basic.

My 66 Trade Wind came with the Owners Manual, sales brochures and appliance manuals. It's fun as the original owner mades lots of hand written notes in the Manual about things like how to light the water heater, and how many flushes of the toilet fills the black tank (56 she notes). They probably kept a clip board in the bathroom and had daily allotments. Rationing flushes!

But their attention to detail is possibly a reason my 66 is in pretty good original shape. I understand they owned it for 30 years.

The Manual is generic for all 1966 Airstreams. The pages useful for me are the plumbing, propane, and electrical wiring diagrams. Oh, and I did learn that the furnace blows heat out the front, and draws return air from the floor mounted registers in the bathroom and under the gaucho.

I think you would be disappointed in a $48 copy of this manual, unless you wanted it for fun. PM me if you want additiional information.

Hello from Colorado: My Trade Wind is gone along with the manual. I'll bet other have a manual available. You also might find a downloaded copy on the internet somewhere.

Here is a link to the Airstream Inc document archives. It does offer sales brochures and specifications, but no manuals.

https://www.airstream.com/owners/doc.../tt/year/1966/

I do have "photos" of the electrical and plumbing diagrams from the 66 manual. They are pretty generic. Actually there isn't a lot of difference between a Safari 22', a Trade Wind 24' or an Overlander 26'. The trailers are built very much alike for a model year.
