I DO have a bit more info. The East Coast owner was a member of a church who used or had planned to use this trailer for outside church events and they would serve food out of it. More than likely, the same church as the Kingswood.

The Frank is the Frank of Frank's Trailer Works in Baltimore, Maryland.

That should narrow it down a bit.

Here is the word I got on the trailer in question. This trailer;

It was given to a very charismatic minister by a widow lady in West Virginia. He bounced from town to town doing revivals. The trailer was used to sell food at those revivals. This is Appalachian Mountain type revivals. The minister sold it to another church who went around and feed the hungry and pressed the lord with it. They also used it at church events. The church stopped using it and it sat. Then Bill purchased it and it became one of his projects. Bill passed on and I purchased it. Times got tight and I put it up for sale. The day I put it up for sale, I had a buyer. It was bought by a man who put it on a boat and it went off to South Hampton.
The only part of this story I know is true is the part involving Bill and myself.
As every trailer I have ever sold, I wish I had not.

Can you pass along the date stamp on the ID tag where the serial number is located? Also does it have a booth or couch up front? The 'D' tells me it has a double bed so that info I have.

Thanks and congrats on your find.

Hi Brad, Our tradewind has the serial number 24D0239 on the right side of the entry door. Says it was made in Berkley CA. It had a gaucho couch originally but we put in a custom dinette booth and table.

Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds.

thanks and yes- I always thought I wanted a smaller unit (Globetrotter) before I stumbled on this one but after several extended trips I realize these early, single axle Tradewinds are as good as it gets. The build quality, layout, size and weight... the perfect vintage trailer?

Welcome to the registry group Ramblin." Good of you to post your serial number. I've added yours to the registry. I'll bet yours was made either April or May of 1959. How about posting some pictures? Love to see your TradeWind.

YAY!!! With two '59's added today, the total for the registry is 153 with 52 from the CA plant and 56 from the OH plant. The remaining ones I've heard of but don't have serial numbers on them.

Judging by the manufacturer date stamp, yours is a 1962 model. Email sent.

Thumbs up Here's my number

Just purchased 1960 Tradewind(single axel) 7/6/13. Roadworthy, but systems need work. Interior is in good shape, original wood, etc. Heading to Tucson for the winter. Hoping to get more things up and running.

Thanks Michele. Are you bring that TradeWind of yours to Tucson this winter? How about posting some pictures? Love to see your new-to-you TradeWind.

Let me know if I can answer any questions. Be glad to help.

Serial Number

We are a couple of months into ownership of a 1960 Tradewind. How do I find the serial number to register it?

Hi Donald and welcome to the club. There should be an ID tag next to the entry door on the trailer and its also the one on your title and registration form. Looking forward to adding yours to the registry.
