Couch for 59 Tradewind

Hi,

I just acquired a '59 Tradewind and one of the things that needs updated/replaced is the couch in the front of it. This couch is much different from the original that I have in my 61 Ambassador (it folds out to form a double bed. The wood is attached to the floor and walls and it very simple to use.) The couch that came with my 59 is not in very good shape and is freestanding. Just wondering if anyone could share some info/photos about the couch situation. I would like to get something better in there and would really like it to match the original if I can find out what this is. Is it likely that the couch in my '61 is the same as would have been found in my '59?

Couch

I have a '59 tradewind that I'm trying to re-activate, and I just took the front couch apart to look at the water tank. While I've got it apart I'll take some pictures for you. Know ye that the foam rubber cushion weights about 200 lbs.

I look forward to seeing the pics.

My water tank is not in the front -- it's beneath the double bed, however in my '60 Tradewind the water tank is in the front.

so here is what mine looks like.

just for you to see!

Where are you located?

Cherring,

I have a Gaucho with cushion from a 61 Airstream out in my barn. Where are you located? I could take some pictures if interested? I am in central NY. The cushion needs to be replaced, but all there for patterns.

Rob ~

Chris is located in PA but hasn't posted in a while. She has one of her Airstream's for sale if she hasn't sold it already. One is a '59 TradeWind and the other I believe was a '59 Overlander. I can't remember for sure, it's been a long time since we conversed. She wants to sell one so she can finance the restoration of the other one.
