Add me to the '59 Tradewind owners club, I just got mine today. She's got twin bunks and is going to be the perfect size of State/National park trips for our family. I'm looking forward to refurbishing her in the months/years ahead!

Alright Andy!!! We'll need a serial number so it can be added. How about some pictures too?

Serial is 249056

She is being polished this week, they started today. I'm going to go visit on Wednesday to see how things are going and snap some pics. I will post other before photos too in a new thread where I can chronicle my tinkering. We're getting excited about hitting the road with our girls to go have some fun!

Another 59 Tradewind

Hi Brad,
I have had this Calif. built Tradewind for a year and have already spent more hours on her than I imagined it would take to get it camp ready. I've been lurking on the Air Forums but finally decided to share my progress. I know how much I enjoy following the progress as others on the forum have restored their vintage Airstreams.

Thanks for posting Jack. I've added your info to the registry. Glad you stropped lurking and joined in. Do you have a booth or couch up front? Any pictures to share?

We were torn but decided on a u shaped dinette that has storage for the tabletop which makes it more comfortable for watching TV/movies

Did it originally have a couch or a dinette? I'll go check out your photos later today.

Any Other '59 Tradewind Owners Out There?

The trailer was missing everything in front of the door. I think it had some type of Goucho sofa. The original fresh water tank was missing, but the hole for the fill tube indicates that there was a tank at the very front originally.
There are no mounting holes in the walls at the front that would indicate a dinette.
I eliminated the two shelves that came stock above and below the front window.
With the end cap being polished it just didn't look right with the shelves.
I arrived at the dinette design after looking at what others have done, along with some mock up tries.

With the two vertical stacked windows just ahead of the entry door indicates it had a couch originally. Cool looking unit and you're doing some great work on her.

Brad, I think I tracked down another, a '62 TW from out west that just showed up in a driveway a couple miles from here. I'll see if the owners want to share their info.
They have been lurking and looking for quite awhile.
